INDEPENDENT PERSPECTIVE · BRUGES, BELGIUM

Technology is
the easy part.
Making it matter
is the work.

I’m Bart Louwagie. I work at the intersection of technology, cybersecurity, governance and organisational change — helping turn complexity into practical progress.

A POINT OF VIEW

Good technology should make organisations more capable — not just more complicated.

After working across countries, industries and critical environments, I’ve become interested in the space between what technology promises and what organisations can actually make work.

02 / CURRENT CURIOSITIES

Things worth
figuring out.

A working notebook, not a list of services. These are themes I’m actively thinking about, testing and learning from.

01

AI beyond the demo

Where do AI and automation create measurable value? How do we move from impressive prototypes to dependable ways of working?

Security as an enabler

Cybersecurity, resilience and governance that help organisations move with confidence — not frameworks for their own sake.

Better ways to build

Custom-fit digital services, process automation and the changing economics of software. Learning by making small things.

LEARNING

A PRINCIPLE I KEEP COMING BACK TO

“The best solution is not the one with the most features. It’s the one that fits the problem well enough to change what happens next.”

Experience is useful
when it helps others move.

I’m interested in thoughtful conversations, advisory roles and collaborations where perspective, challenge and practical experience can make a difference.

04 / A LITTLE ABOUT ME

Many places.
One perspective.

My professional life has taken me well beyond Belgium — including 22 years in the United States, and chapters in the Netherlands, Switzerland and France, and the Seychelles.

Those experiences shaped how I look at organisations: culture matters, context matters, and the same answer rarely works everywhere. I’m now based in Bruges, Belgium, bringing together experience in information security, governance and change with a continuing curiosity about what comes next.
